Fitness Challenge + The Barre Code

If you follow me on snapchat you know that I had started a fitness challenge...but with Swim Week happening I couldn't stay committed and so I started it over again. I am in my second week of the challenge and I have to say I am very proud.

The 30 day challenge is to eat clean 7 days a week with one cheat meal and workout EVERY single day for 1 hour! I have been breaking up my workouts with 30 minutes of weight training and 30 minutes of cardio, but doing the same thing over and over again can get tiring. So I have been looking for new ways to make my workouts fun!

Of course, I knew I had to take a class at The Barre Code. When I first heard about their fitness classes I was excited because I use to dance ballet as a child and I thought what a great way to integrate ballet and fitness. Little did I know this was not just going to be about plies' and port de bras  but intense full body workouts.

I took a friend and we had a blast. We worked out in a dark room with blue lighting and loud music. We started off with 2 lbs weights and I thought "oh, I got this" since I have been weight lifting I can handle 2 lbs. Well little did I know how killer it would be. After my arms felt like noodles it was time for my legs to get the workout. We worked out with resistant bands and started exercising with the bar.  This is when my legs started to twitch...but I loved it! 50 minutes of finding strength in the struggle.
