Art Basel is approaching.. although the exhibition at the Miami Beach convention center doesn't start until the 5th there are many other events related to Art Basel going on starting today. Some of the events I am looking forward to are "THE ICONIC ARCHIVE" COSTUME EXHIBITION, SHOPBAZAAR, and 12 SHOES FOR 12 LOVERS.
"THE ICONIC ARCHIVE" COSTUME EXHIBITION is a costume exhibition that explores fashion as art and celebrates the designers as fashion visionaries. The exhibition features pieces designed by the most influential fashion houses around the globe including Alexander McQueen, Chanel, Christian Dior and Pucci. How often does our beautiful city get to be honored by showcasing fashion from such highly respected designers around the world! I can't wait to be inspired.
SHOPBAZAAR is a pop-up Harper's Bazaar is creating for guest to be able to shop for items directly out of their magazine. I think the idea is genius. How many time have you ever seen an item in a magazine and just said I have to have it, if I only i could see it in person…try the fit, feel the fabric..etc. This is a great way to experience that! The ShopBAZAAR pop-up will be open to the public on Tuesday, Dec. 3 from 1:30 p.m.–6 p.m.; Wednesday, Dec. 4 & Thursday, Dec. 5 from 11 a.m.–6 p.m. Soho Beach House 4385 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach
12 SHOES FOR 12 LOVERS is an exhibition by Sebastian Errazuriz that features 12 shoe sculptures, each inspired by a real former girlfriend or lover. The sculptures are rendered with 3-D printing technology! I don't know about you guys but this sounds extremely interesting. I have never seen anything printed form a 3D printer, I am looking forward to learning more about this artist and this type of work! The exhibition will be open to the public through January 5, 2014 at Melissa Pop Up Shop 830 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach .
There are many more events going on all week for more info visit Social Miami. Hope you all go out and explore all that our beautiful city has to offer! Thousands of people all over the world come to Art Basel in Miami, why shouldn't our residents attend :) See you there!
