It's all in the Details

What I love about fashion is that all the beauty really lies in the details. When ever I buy pieces I really look at what makes it special that catches my attention and then I think about how it can work with other pieces. Take this Franco Sarto sandals for example the snake skin is in a black, cream and grey tone making them a neutral although it is a strong print. The top looks like a plain t-shirt yet the sleeve detail gives it texture and volume to make it interesting. Again the color blocking is subtle to focus on the detail, making it easy to pair with other items.

The jeans same seem like plain skinnies but the rips give it some edge, especially since these have a rip pretty high up on the thigh. The Marc Jacobs bangle is soft, with its bubbly letters bringing a more feminine touch to this look. And for a great contrast I added this textured BCBG ring, the juxtaposition of the textures work because they share the silver that pair them well together. It's all cohesive with the look since the shirt is soft and the pants and snake print are edgier. 

Don't be afraid to make your outfits have contrast, just make sure they share something do it can be tied together.
