Fashion X Feminism

Sometimes I just sit back and think it is so amazing how far fashion for women has come. Here I am in a cargo style jacket (similar here) while wearing boyfriend jeans! Years ago only men wore jeans and cargo jackets. As it was worn by the working man. I have always been a strong and bold women. Even as a young teen I always thought I could do whatever a man could do. I was never too interested in sports and I have always been a girly girl but I never liked it when people told me that what I was doing was something only guys do. On the contrary I was like oh but let me show you I can do it too.

When I was young I learned to drive stick shift and I will never forget my dad being upset because only men drive stick shift. I LOVE my dad but he is an old school Cuban latino man and a lot of his mentality is "Machista" (sexist) because that is the way he was raised.  I never accepted those ideologies to be my truth. It was just natural to be like its ok, I am going to do it any ways because I am not like everyone else. I will never forget going to high school in my two door pearl white stick shift sports car and all the boys thinking it was so cool that I knew how to drive that car (and I was pretty good at it too...I would race boys all the time and win..sorry dad). It made me feel so empowered. I have been like that all my life and it makes me so proud so see now this huge feminist movement behind these ideas I share. Growing up I never thought I was a feminist because in my mind I was never against men ( I had the wrong definition of the word). But now I can proudly say I am a feminist, I always have been and always will be.

If you are women who loves jeans and is loving this cargo jacket trend like me can I tell you you may be a bit more feminist than you might think ;)

------------
